How to Clean Your Jewelry
 

1. Open the polishing cloth
Remove one 4" × 6" Cape Cod® Metal Polishing Cloth from its resealable pouch.
 

2. Gently polish your jewelry
Using light pressure, gently rub the cloth over the metal surface of your jewelry. Focus on areas where tarnish, dullness, or fingerprints are visible.
 

3. Take your time
Continue polishing until the metal begins to regain its shine. You do not need to scrub aggressively—gentle, consistent polishing works best.
 

4. Buff to a shine
Use a clean, soft portion of the cloth to buff the jewelry and remove any remaining polishing residue.
 

5. Store your jewelry properly
After cleaning, store your jewelry in a clean, dry place. Keeping pieces away from moisture, humidity, and chemicals will help slow tarnishing.
 

Important Care Tips

• Polish gently. Excessive rubbing or pressure can affect certain finishes or delicate surfaces.

• Keep jewelry dry. Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, or exercising whenever possible.

• Avoid chemicals. Perfume, lotion, hairspray, chlorine, and household chemicals can damage or discolor some jewelry.

• Store pieces separately. This helps prevent scratching and tangling.

• Clean regularly. A quick polish when your jewelry begins looking dull can help maintain its shine.
   

Before You Polish
 

Cape Cod® polishing cloths are designed for polishing metal. Do not use the cloth directly on gemstones, pearls, or other delicate materials. If your piece contains stones, enamel, plating, or a special finish, polish only the appropriate metal areas and avoid the non-metal components.
